Presque rien voir du tout (2022-ongoing)
At the border between France and Italy, Montgenèvre stands in a strategic position for people in exile who come from the global South and seek a better future in Europe. It is also a renowned tourist destination for skiing and golf. On this territory, therefore, a certain number of citizen struggles, political, climatic and social demands are being played out. This project consists of a visual research which aims to explore different forms of violence through landscape and architecture, focussing on traces and remains. With a narrative approach and by the use of a symbolic register, I seek to evoke presences, ghosts, bodies and stories that are both visible and invisible. An abandoned military site, a fallen tree, some survival clothes lost in the forest: they all are contemporary ruins that recall a dysfunctional social body, ours.
